Bear Sunday Roast Menu

The Sunday Roast is such an established British institution that frankly, many of us would think that the fabric of the country had changed if something happened to it. However, I think we’d all agree that though a great home made Roast with all the trimmings is a great way for family and friends to get together, once in a while, it just makes sense to throw caution to the wind and let someone else take up the slack.

Sunday Roasts at the Bear and Ragged Staff are becoming something of an Oxford institution. And for good reason. Though we would never consider usurping the position of Mum (or Dad for that matter) as the primary provider of Sunday Roasts, we reckon we make a convincing case to be the next best option. We can provide a two course Sunday lunch including a glass of red or white wine from £15.00 or three courses from £19.00. A sample menu has been posted above for guidance purposes.

We always have a choice of Roast Beef, Roast Pork, or Half a Roast Chicken, with the appropriate trimmings. Recently, we have also offered Beef Wellington, Roast Lamb, Half a Guinea Fowl and Supreme of Pheasant in addition to the standard offerings. We take the saying “variety is the spice of life very seriously here at the Bear!

Those of you who fancy a roast during the week will be happy to know that there is a roast nearly every day during the winter on our £6.95 set lunch menu. Our kitchen opens at Midday on Sunday and closes at 18.00hrs. We look forward to seeing you up at our Den in Cumnor.
