The Game Dinners at The Bear

There is something very special, even romantic, about the tradition surrounding British game that seems to take us back to our roots. The fact that these creatures were born in the wild and live in the wild so close to where we dwell, creates a special bond between us and our food. In Oxfordshire and most definitely in all the fields surrounding our Cumnor home, commencing every autumn, there is a veritable plethora of wildlife on offer.

In recognition of this fact, during the game season, The Bear and Ragged Staff has launched a series of monthly game dinners which will generally take place on the last Wednesday of each month and run through to the following Saturday (i.e.4 days), commencing on 30th September 2009, priced at £25 per head for three courses. The entire menu can also be ordered course by course in conjuction with our main a la carte menu which forms the heart of our dinner offering.
